Gold Coast Cabs sign long term partnership with Taxi Ads

Media Release - August 2017

Gold Coast businesses now have the opportunity to include their brand promoted across the local taxi network thanks to a new partnership signed with Queensland based Taxi Ads.

Taxi Ads is part of the Go Transit Media Group, Australia’s largest provider of advertising for the transit sector and together they operate across 90 regions with a shared asset portfolio of almost 15,000 assets including taxis, light-rail and buses in all regions from Darwin to Hobart.

Gold Coast Cabs Executive General Manager Benjamin Lee said he was excited to sign the long- term agreement which covered 350 Gold Coast cabs.

“Increased competition in our industry has resulted in us looking at ways to generate extra revenue for our taxi drivers and operators. This is great opportunity for our business, Gold Coast Cabs is an iconic part of the city’s famous lifestyle and local businesses now have the opportunity to promote their brand on our Cabs in a large scale format to hundreds of thousands of people every day.

“Go Transit and their business Taxi Ads are Australia’s largest provider of adverting in the transit sector, this partnership makes sense as they already provide thousands of campaigns each year on buses as well as the Gold Coast light rail and our cabs will now be added to this opportunity,” he said.

Mr Lee also added that Taxi Ads are committed to protecting and promoting the Gold Coast Taxi brand.

"There have been situations in the past where our branding was completely covered in advertising and this opportunity will not be available as part of our new partnership with Taxi Ads.

"The arrangement with Taxi Ads is off to a great start and we have seen an immediate revenue stream generated to taxi operators with some iconic local brands already choosing to advertise on our taxis," Mr Lee said.

Taxi Ads Chief Operating Officer Rick Chapman said for the first time ever local businesses have the opportunity to promote their brand in a large scale format to hundreds of thousands of people every day.

“Transit advertising works particularly well on the Gold Coast thanks to its enviable lifestyle and great weather, the cabs are always where people are and constantly in the community seven days a week so it’s an ideal way to promote a product or a brand.

“We have been overwhelmed with enquiry from local businesses and our existing clients that are currently running campaigns on our busses are now wanting to increase their frequency by adding a campaign with Gold Coast Cabs.

"We are committed to generating revenue for the Taxi operators along with securing strong results for the advertisers while also providing large format advertising on the Cabs," Mr Chapman said.
